Gräsheden is located on the north bank of the Görälven River and is one of three small villages between Fulunäs and Grundforsen, which are located in the valley with the Sälenfjällen mountains to the south and Näsfjället and Fulufjället to the north.

The Görälven and Fuluälven rivers flow together here and form the Västerdalälven. The rest area with the statue of the Fulunäs soldier, which was erected in memory of all the men and women who protected and guarded the Norway-Sweden border during World War II.

Sälen Vandrarhem has in recent years developed a trail system so that it is easy to reach Södra Kungsleden. The trails are boarded and, where necessary, bridges have been built over streams and guiding signs have been put up.

There is very good fishing in Görälven, where you can fish for grayling, trout and whitefish. Fly fishing is an exciting way to fish in these waters, but other methods are also effective. There are also many nice streams in the area to fish in. If you want to fish in lakes or ponds, there are many in the area. In these waters, you can catch trout, char or rainbow salmon. There are also nice lakes with good pike fishing.
