We start the weekend with accommodation at STF Sälens Hostel from Thursday to Sunday and during these days we have the opportunity to gain knowledge together with experienced dog instructors about what to consider when hiking with man's best friend.

Friday and Saturday we go on hiking trips, a shorter hike on Friday, and a longer one on Saturday, with accommodation at the hostel together with the dogs. We start the day with a simpler briefing, then during the hike we break for both lunch and coffee, as well as a lighter briefing on tips about hiking with a dog (theory session)

Estimated distance Friday approx. 7km, Saturday approx. 13 km. Possibility of pick-up during the tour, for those who want to hike shorter. Detailed program with map and routes can be found at the bottom of this page. Note no tough track sections, but on flatter terrain, so that you who are not experienced and/or beginners can follow easily.

If you don't have a dog but want to rent one during the weekend, there is a possibility for this, including all the dog's accessories to make the hike nice for you and the dog. We adapt the dog to you and your personality, as far as possible. (includes dog, dog food, hoof bag, waist belt, leash) the dogs live at Sälen Hund & Aktivitet with Ulrica who is the weekend's hiking guide and instructor.

Start: Thursday, June 6, considered a travel day, drive here at your leisure, check-in from 4:00 PM

End: Sunday after breakfast check-out Sunday, May 24.

Getting here:
Your own car is recommended, otherwise there is a bus to Sälen, where we can pick you up for a small fee.

Accommodation:
The price includes 3 nights accommodation at Sälens Vandrarhem, here there are a number of accommodation options, economy twin room, standard twin room with WC or family room with WC. Shower is shared in the corridor. Washing machine and drying room are also available. Sheets and towels are included in the price, however you make the beds yourself.

Food
All meals for the owner/mate are included in the price, i.e. full board from Thursday evening to Sunday lunch.

Barbecue along the trail
Dinner 6:00 PM times are preliminary.
Coffee and cookies are (almost) always available at the hostel.
Food for the dog is NOT included.

Keep in mind that it takes more energy for both you and your dog, especially if they are wearing knapsacks, when you are out hiking in the mountains. Please bring plenty of easily accessible energy for yourself and your dog.
